My Teaching Philosophy

I see teaching as nurturing a reciprocal relationship between myself and my students. As an auxiliar, I believe that it is my responsibility as a teacher to provide my students with a fundamental understanding of English and how it is spoken in my native country. It is my goal, as a teacher, to create an environment conducive to learning, knowledge that will help them be successful in achieving their lives' goals, materials, opportunities, and feedback that will help them learn, and help in becoming and remaining motivated to be successful both in their studies and in applying their knowledge to solve problems in their lives.  I emphasise the following skillsets in all my teaching endeavours. engaged citizenry individual  fulfilment problem solving teamwork content mastery critical thinking

Characteristics and features of Asuncion Rincon:

My school is a primary school. Our students range from infantil up to sexto (Pre-K - 6th). The school utilizes a community of teachers that teach a myriad of classes via periodic exchanges. The students at my school remain in the same classroom all day (aside from music and p.e) otherwise the teachers are responsible for switching between periods to cover their respective periods. All the teachers eat lunch together, which establishes a communal, family dynamic between the teachers and staff members.
